QSE Qualification Call Overview: Overview and Scope of Call • All topics will be focused on Outage Scheduling and will serve as the primary means for ERCOT to communicate information to the TSPs and QSEs w/ Resources • Primarily, we will focus on qualification through March 2010 • Standing agenda items will be related to: • Frequently Asked Questions and issues experienced • Any program updates to scope, schedule or activities • Nodal production environment status and known issues • Overall status of TSP and QSE Outage Scheduler Qualification • Other non-qualification related agenda items • Nodal Telemetry Outreach Effort • CIM database loads http://nodal.ercot.com 5

Environment Report: Changes to Supported Environment Hours • Outage Scheduler Environment Availability for February - March 2010 • The Nodal Production Environment will be available Monday – Friday from 8am – 6pm • Outside of these hours, ERCOT will be executing performance testing and patch migrations based on testing results • For those MPs that provided ERCOT test certificates, there will be test notifications sent to your listeners (where applicable) during these internal ERCOT tests • ERCOT will coordinate with MPs when submitting to avoid qualification transactions • Please note that only functionality that pertains to the Outage Scheduler qualification activities has been validated and are supported • Other features (such as reports and other MIS functionality) may be present in the environment but may have issues • ERCOT is still in the process of validating features to be released in later Market Trials Phases http://nodal.ercot.com 8

Standing reports and updates: General Reminders / Updates • Market Trials Phase 3 Kick Off / MRS 2 • ERCOT will host these on Jan. 28th, starting at 9am • Location is the Austin Met center as well as via WebEx • Details are posted at www.ercot.com/calendar/2010/01/20100128-EDS/ • Reminder: Market Trials email address change: ERCOT asks that MPs use the markettrials@ercot.com email address for questions from this point forward • This will begin the phasing out of eds2@ercot.com, eds3@ercot.com and eds4@ercot.com email addresses. • A centralized address will no longer require MPs to “guess” which email address to use for their questions • We have implemented a more effective method of routing and responding to emails using this address • The old eds emails can continue to be used until 2009 hold over efforts are completed (such as telemetry outreach) http://nodal.ercot.com 10

Nodal Production Environment – Access / Location • Authentication • Users that currently have an ERCOT production digital certificate, will continue to use this certificate in the Nodal Production Environment • Users that do not have an ERCOT production digital certificate should request one from their company’s USA (User Security Administrator) • New Market Participants will obtain certificates via the ERCOT registration process • Authorization (Roles) • On August 28th, 2009, ERCOT released Nodal Roles to the production MPIM (Market Participant Identity Management) system • Market Participant USA’s must assign the appropriate role to users that will be testing in the Nodal Production environment • See next slide for a list of Nodal Roles http://nodal.ercot.com 13

Nodal Production Environment – Common Information Model / Data Set • Common Information Model (CIM) • ERCOT’s target is to update the CIM in lock step with the zonal schedule • The next scheduled CIM update is this Friday 1/22/2010 • Subsequent dates will be communicated via this call • This version of the CIM will reflect data as of 1/5/2010 • Market Participant Short Names extracted from the 1/5/2010 CIM will be posted to the Outage Scheduler page on the readiness center:http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/markettrials/os/index.html http://nodal.ercot.com 15

Communications Plan / Issue Management • Issue Management – Market Participant Discovered Issues • Market Participants will report all issues using the markettrials@ercot.com distribution • ERCOT will perform triage and determine root cause • If determined to be a variance / defect, ERCOT will leverage our existing defect management process to estimate, analyze and prioritize the resolution • Additionally, ERCOT will maintain a known issues spreadsheet on the Outage Scheduler Readiness center page • Will be updated every Friday by EOB (note that if no new known issues are discovered, the spreadsheet will remain static) • Will only detail those issues affecting the scope of Release 2.1 and any work-arounds available to avoid issues • Will be posted and maintained at: http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/markettrials/os/index.html • Known issues will be added as a standing agenda item on the weekly Outage Scheduler Market Call http://nodal.ercot.com 18

Market Participant Web Service and User Interface Qualification • ERCOT will qualify TSPs and QSEs based on their proven ability to submit, query and cancel the specified market transactions • MPs may elect to use the Outage Scheduler User Interface or the External Web Services interface • Qualification will take place between Feb 1, 2010 and March 30, 2010 http://nodal.ercot.com 19

Market Participant Web Service and User Interface Qualification • MPs who completed qualification during the 2007/2008 market trials: • Will self-qualify and are not required to conduct a two-hour conference call with a member of the Market Trials testing team. • Self-qualification will consist of completing a transaction checklist (see sample – next slide) stating the date / time of each submittal • Send completed checklists to markettrials@ercot.com for verification • Once the checklist is verified, ERCOT will send a confirmation email and completion report • New MPs (since 2008) • Will qualify during a conference call with the Market Trials team • These QSEs will be able to pose questions and be supported through the conference call • Typical conference call will last 1 – 2 hours • QSEs that have qualified previously may exercise this conference call as an option http://nodal.ercot.com 20
