General Uses of CBMS • For building capacities of members of the community to participate in the development planning and monitoring process • For diagnosing poverty • For formulating appropriate interventions • For resource allocation • For identifying eligible beneficiaries • For impact monitoring • For enriching existing databases • For enhancing development plans and profiles

CBMS PASAY Uses of CBMS generated data - as baseline data for Pasay City/UNICEF Sixth Country Program for our disparity barangays. • for targeting beneficiaries of OWWA “GROCERIA CUM BOTICA” Project. • Used by NGOs in identifying the beneficiaries of their programs • as baseline data for MDG monitoring. • by OSCA Pasay in profiling the city’s senior citizens.

CBMS PASAY Uses of CBMS generated data • baseline information for UNESCAP in conducting survey for their program, “Strengthening Life Skills for Positive Health Behavior of OSY”. • Served as baseline data in preparing the Hazard-based Risk and Vulnerability Assessment Guidebook- used in addressing MDG 6. • PHILHEALTH will use CBMS data in identifying their future beneficiaries. • CPDO used these data in training all the city’s barangay officials in preparing their barangay dev. Plans.

  11. Preparation of barangay profiles and plans • CBMS data and the analysis of it are used as inputs in the preparation of the barangay development plans and socio-economic profiles. CBMS PASAY Our next steps and challenges ahead • CBMS round 2, this year • Advocacy for a more liberal use of CBMS data in planning, policy and decision making. • Encourage the private sector specially the business sector in directly helping the poor through government linkage using CBMS data in identifying possible beneficiaries. • Use of CBMS data in mitigating the vicious cycle of poverty in blighted areas. - Advocate for the legality of using the 20% DEVELOPMENT FUND for non-infra programs directly addressing the problems identified by CBMS.
