A portable instrument, the Osiris can also be installed semi-permanently, making it an ideal instrument for monitoring pollution hotspots in cities, towns, and other places where airborne particles could be a concern.

  2. It can be housed in a lamp post box, and in addition to the facility to power by mains or battery, the Osiris also offers the option of powering by solar or wind power where practical. Users of the Osiris can be confident that their PM10 data will be recorded accurately and reliably thanks to the Environment Agency's MCERTS certification. Application is also underway for MCERTS certification in PM2.5. The Osiris, along with our other airborne particle monitors, works using Turnkey’s specially- developed nephelometer. Air samples are continuously drawn through the nephelometer, which analyzes individual particles as they pass through a laser beam. The particles are then collected on the reference filter. The nephelometer’s microprocessor has the capacity to analyze individual particles, even if there are millions of particles per litre.
