  1. Britain Since 1948 By Tom, Leona, Alice and Edwyn.

  2. Transport • 1960’s and onwards changes in transport and travel have made it easier for more people to travel around the world. However, more cars means more pollution, noise and congestion. The Boeing 707 goes into service to challenge the de Havilland Comet for leadership in the Jet aircraft Industry. • By Tom Bennett.

  3. Fashion • In 1950, the Teddy Boy had come arrived and was a very popular fashion. The biggest hit of fashion after 1948 was the mini-skirt. Some were only 12 inches long! • In 1960 the Hippies were huge fashion hit. Flowers and hair bands were perfect in that time. • The Rock and Punk look was the best thing in 1970. • By Leona Storey.

Music • 1950 and onwards The Beatles were a massive hit within the country, they brought a new word to music, which was “ROCK.” Elvis Presley was a very famous singer around the whole world, and was also a rock star. ABBA arrived on the scene and the Beatles where toppled. • In the 1990s, The Spice Girls had shocked the country with their band moving to the top of the charts. • Radio Caroline was a good one to tune in to. • By Leona Storey.

  5. Population • Animals were becoming popular, like puppies, horses and cats. • Primary schools in 1950s had grown, for loads of people were having children and they needed education. • By Alice Chapman.

  6. Technology • In the 1980s they began to bring out a list of toys that contained a microchip like: • The game boy, a pocket calculator, the digital watch. • By Edwyn Mollart.
