  3. Approach taken • NGOs provided project concept papers • UNV developed brochure • Brochure + letter sent to companies, chambers of commerce, and embassies • Follow-up by e-mail and phone • Information sessions organized • Follow-up by in-depth meetings

  4. Types of interest Chambers of Commerce + Embassies: • Interest to further disseminate information • Interest in training and services for private sector • Interest in new markets

  5. Types of interest (cont’d) Companies: • Pure business interest • Interest in sharing information • Interest in corporate volunteering • Interest in international experts • Interest in project development (feasibility & design) • Interest in more responsible suppliers

  6. Outcome • Information sharing on corporate social reponsibility • Established relationships with chambers of commerce allowing further outreach to companies • IKEA: interest in the sustainable production of natural fibres • Perhaps some engagement in corporate volunteering

  7. Conclusions • Time-consuming • Need to focus on companies with CSR track record? • Need to narrow focus of potential partnership? • Need flexibility / wide range of opportunities • Need continuity of programme and approach
