  1. Endangering Australia:Local V.S. Introduced .Brief background of the Kakadu national Park. .Explanation of Native flora and fauna and how it helps nourish and preserve the national park. .A detailed analysis of Introduced species. .How introduced species have damaged the national park with specific reference to local flora and fauna. .What have been some government initiatives to help overcome the problems of introduced species .List possible solutions to assist the Kakadu national park overcome this problem BY: Kwaku Marfo

  2. Kakadu National Park Kakadu national park is an exceptionally natural park located in the Northern outskirts of Australia South East of Darwin. Kakadu covers a vast area of 20000 Km squared, surrounding up to 5 alligator rivers, 6 landforms and a remarkable variety of concentration wildlife. The park has an extraordinary history dating back to when the native indigenous people where settled there. The name originated from the Gaagudju language.

  3. Flora And Fauna Native Flora: flora is a term usually used when referring to the indigenous plants of a particular region, habitat, or geological period. Native Fauna: fauna is the name given to generalise all animals of a particular time period or region. This plants and wildlife are a key component to the survival of the Kakadu national park. Some of these animals have been there for many years and their survival is key.

  4. INTRODUCED SPECIES Introduced flora or fauna species that have been placed out of their natural breeding grounds into different ecosystems or communities are called introduced species, this introduction can sometime cause danger to both humans and the animals. These animals can be introduced intentionally or accidently either way the damage can be fatal. This why when a new species is introduced the matter is taken seriously. There have been many introduced species in Kakadu such as Asian water buffalo, cattle, pigs, horses, donkeys, cats, dogs, rats, mice, house geckos and European bees some more harmful than other. Animals such as pigs degrade the environment where as cane toads are poisonous.

  5. Invasive Animal Impact Unwanted introduced animals such as pigs, cats and particularly the Asian water buffalo have a clear negative impact to local flora and fauna. These animals kill native Australian animals and this can fatally influence the whole species. feral animals kill recklessly and occupied a lot of the animals habit sometimes causing extinction.

  6. Government Resolution There is a specific section in the government which is responsible for the protection of environment and social amenity from the negative effects associated with invasive species. Some of the things they do to prevent unwanted species is border way management and control, restricting access of specific things. This association has already set out plans such as strengthening coverage, smarter surveillance , making sound decisions and developments and developing partnership.

  7. Kakadu Solution There are various possible solutions for this national park to rid of unwanted invasive species: .Kill all invasive animals .Provide better security surveillance .Separate animals .provide better perimeter for protection By: Kwaku Marfo
