  2. What is the purpose of ADDIE ADDIE is one of the most commonly used models for instructional design and development. The purpose of the ADDIE model is to guide individuals through the process of creating and evaluating instruction

  3. What does ADDIE stand for? ADDIE is an acronym that divides the three step process of designing instruction into five actions; analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. A nalyze D esign D evelop mplement I E valuate

  4. Analyze The 1st step in the ADDIE model is to analyze the situation. During this process the problem needs to be identified and defined, as well as determining possible solutions for the problem.

  5. Analyze Research Techniques Involved: *Needs Analysis *Job Analysis *Task Analysis *Instructional Goals *Identification of Constraints Questions to Ponder: *Who is the audience *What does the audience need to know? *What information is already known? *What are the project timeline and milestones? *What are the delivery options?

  6. Design The second step in ADDIE is to design, which is to plan a strategy for developing the instruction by researching, planning, developing, managing and evaluating the instructional process. Tasks involved in the design process includes: *Create storyboards *Design Interactions *Develop Assessments

  7. Develop What takes place in the development phase? *Lesson plans and lesson materials are created. *Instruction is developed *Media used in the instruction is developed *Supporting documentation is developed *Outlines created in design will turn into to specific step-by-step details.

  8. Implement During Implementation the plan is put into action and the procedure for training the educator has been produced and distributed to the learner(s).

  9. Implement What should the outcome contain? *The student’s understanding of the material *Must support the student’s mastery of objectives *Ensure the student’s transfer of knowledge from the instructional setting to the job.

  10. Evaluate What is the purpose of the Evaluate phase? *Review and evaluate each phase to make sure it is accomplishing it’s purpose. *Measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the instruction *Observe that the learner can perform the tasks being trained, if not then how can the outcome be improved *Feedback from the user(s) are provided in order to make revisions as necessary

  11. ADDIE Intertwining Each phase can overlap and be interrelated: *Analyze: This phase is the foundation for the other 4 phases in the instructional design process. *Design: Outputs from the analysis phase is used in order to start planning a strategy in order to develop instruction needed. *Develop: Builds on the 1st and 2nd phase in order to develop lesson plans and materials *Implement: In order to deliver information to the learner an instructional designer must feed information off the first 3 phases in ADDIE. *Evaluate: Measures the effectiveness and efficiency of analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing the information needed to be produced.
