PROGRAM DETAILS ABOUT THE PROGRAM ABOUT WHAU ACE Work Preparation for Adults Whau Ace New Lynn - Adult and Community Education is a Charitable Trust established in 2009 due to a gap identified in the provision of Adult and Community Education as a result from by Government funding cuts in the area known today as the Whau Ward (Kelston, New Lynn, Avondale, Blockhouse Bay and parts of Green Bay and Glen Eden). Whau Ace New Lynn aims to offer learning opportunities that is accessible and affordable to the people of the Whau Ward. While we will offer education in New Lynn we accept people from all areas of Auckland. The Whau Ward is a multi-cultural area with a high young family population, a high immigrant population, and a new growth area in the Whau region is the aged population. WhauAce have taken into consideration the demographics of our population in the Whau Board region and targets our programmes to focus on enhancing and adding value to individuals, families and the home. Whau Ace New Lynn Trust Board invites and welcomes you to drop in any time and talk to us about your learning needs or ideas for New Lynn. PROGRAM NUMBER: WAWP014 PROGRAM DATES: Work Preparation for Adults returning or new to the workforce. This course is all about self-preparation. Getting ready mentally, physically and emotionally. Take time to scan the working sector - see where you fit in it and then self audit, and if need be, refocus and or retrain. Come and prepare in a relaxed, fun, focused atmosphere and get to know others who are on a similar journey as yourself. Don’t wait – do it Now – Enrol today. Term 1: 26 February – 9 April 2014 (7 weeks) Term 2: 7 May – 18 June 2014 (7 weeks) Term 3: TBA Term 4: TBA PROGRAM HOURS: 10am to 12pm (Tuesday only) Total program hours per term fourteen (14) NO. PARTICIPANTS: Maximum of 10 people per class Minimum of 6 people per class PROGRAM TUTOR: Theresa Christie Tutors are suitably qualified, experienced and passionate about their program of delivery. PROGRAM CERTIFICATION: Students receive a Certificate of Completion if they have satisfied the Tutors attendance and participation requirements. PROGRAM FEES PER TERM: NZD$50.00 + materials 10% Discount for Gold Card & Community Services Card holders.
