  2. Misbehavior CANNOT and WILL NOT be tolerated! Don’t Monkey around! • Immediately notify your teacher of any UNSAFE conditions you observe. • Work with your group at your station only

  3. Please note the location and proper use of the following lab Safety Equipment: • Eyewash Station • Fire Safety Blanket • Fire Extinguisher • First Aid Kit

  7. First Aid Kit: **See Teacher

  8. Wear safety goggles and, when needed, gloves while engaging in lab activities.

  9. Proper dress for lab includes: • Tying back long hair and bangs • Removing dangling jewelry • Rolling up long sleeves • Securing baggy clothing • Wearing closed toe shoes

  10. NEVER eat or drink in the lab. • Keep hands away from eyes, mouth and body while using chemicals

  11. Never smell a material in a test tube or flask directly. Instead, with your hand, "fan" some of the fumes to your nose carefully.

  12. Wash your hands with soap and water after performing lab activities • NEVER touch, taste or smell any chemicals unless specified to do so.

  13. Chipped or cracked glassware should not be used. Show it to the teacher. • Broken glassware should not be disposed of in a classroom trashcan. There is a special glass disposal container for it.

  14. Clean all glassware, labware and equipment at the end of the lab. • Return all equipment and supplies to proper storage area.

  15. HOMEWORK: • Create a lab safety poster. We will vote on a class winner. • Posters must be: • On White Copy Paper • Display LGMS Lab Rules • Be neat and colorful • Get Lab Safety Contract Signed

  16. LGMS LAB RULES: • Follow instructions at all times • Behave responsibly throughout lab activities • Food, drink and gum are prohibited in the lab unless provided as part of lab investigation • Wear appropriate lab gear and clothing • Follow all clean-up procedures
