Test dates (subject of change): • I Test 2/19/2010 • II Test 3/12/2010 • III Test 4/16/2010 • IV Test 5/10/2010 • Finals 5/14/2010 • 10:00- 11:50 a.m. (ACS National Trade Exam) • EXAMINATION AND GRADE INFORMATION: • Examination, quiz scores and grades will not be given out or discussed over the phone. • You may be required to sit in an assigned seat during hour exams and the final examination. • There will be four one-hour examinations worth 100 points apiece for a total of 400 points. • There will also be a 10-15-minute quiz every week (mostly on Fridays). Best of 10 quizzes for a maximum 200 points will be considered • The laboratory will be graded for a total of 200 points based on experiments, quizzes and recitation (see the handout). • On-line homework assignment :Sing-up for CATALYST-Online home work system. Assignments will entail mastery performance. There will be a total 10 homework assignments for a maximum of 100 points. To secure 10 points of each chapter, at least 80% of the assigned questions need to be completed by the due date. Late submission will not be accepted. Additional problems from CATALYST will be assigned for an extra credit up to 50 points. To secure maximum credit, 60% or more of the assigned problems from catalyst need to be completed by the due date. • The final examination (comprehensive), on May 14, 2010 will be worth 100 points for a maximum total of 1000 points in this course. • Note: No make up test will be offered without evidence of medical excuse. • No make up quizzes will be given. • No graphing calculator is allowed in the test or quizzes. Only scientific calculators • (with no information stored in memory) is allowed. • Turn-off the cell phones before entering the class room. • See the Instructor if you don’t meet the pre-requisite for Chem 212.
