  2. Internet safety lesson make-up Directions: • Read the following presentation and watch the videos. • Write your name on your index card and answer the “Bob” questions at the end. • Turn your index card in to Mrs. Norton.

  3. Tip #1: Guard your privacy. • Whenever possible, keep your personal information private. What is personal information? • Name • Home address • Phone number • Email address • Photos • Etc.

  4. Tip #2: LEAVE A POSITIVE DIGITAL FOOTPRINT. • Posting Pictures Online • Post only information, photos, and videos that present your best self.

  5. Tip #3: Apply the golden rule. • Cyber-bullies are no fun • Never respond back to rude or harassing comments. • Save the evidence. • Tell an adult you trust.

  6. Tip #4: Be smart. • Online "Friends" • Do not agree to meet online friends face-to-face.

  7. Tip #5: choose online activities wisely. • Talk To An Adult You Trust • If you see or hear anything online that makes you feel uncomfortable, stop and tell an adult you trust.

  8. Tip #6: watch the clock. • Don’t spend too much time online. Get a real life!

  9. “Bob” Questions: • Personal information is information that is unique to you. True or False? • Pictures posted on the Internet cannot be copied and pasted by others. True or False? • A good way to handle cyberbullying is to savethe messages and tell an adult. True or False? • It is safe to agree to meet online friends in person.
