  2. How often have you heard somebody from India or someone who has visited India talk about the delicious, flavourful gravy and rice combination. Indians have a fixed dinner meal plan, a gravy or dal, some dry cooked vegetables, rice and rotis. No Indian household has either of the three meals without a gravy. There are various kinds of vegetables that can be used in the gravy but the main sauce of the gravy is mostly made using the puree of tomatoes mixed with spices, herbs like coriander, garlic, ginger, etc. All the Indian states have their own gravy which they serve with either rice or rotis or in case of South India, with Idli, Dosa and Upma.

To enjoy the authentic taste of Indian gravies, street food and South Indian dishes visit Spice Village Supermarket, an Indian restaurant in Berlin. A gravy of chole will be spicy and full of herbs while the same in South India will carry a little sweet taste and will have flavours of coconut in it.

Over the years the taste and spiciness of Chole have changed with the change in place.
