Representing the most dynamic change to the bolt action rifle in the last 20 years, the Blaser R8 meets the challenge of contemporary hunting with unrivalled versatility in the field. Key advancements in calibre While conventional rifles operate on a rotary bolt system, the Blaser R8 locks the bolt directly to the barrel with a unique design that offers unmatched speed and versatility. This method of locking enables a fully interchangeable calibre system to work, unleashing 40 calibre options from 222 Remington to 500 Jeffery. Trigger assembly improvements The Blaser R8 features the first of its kind removable fire control system. The system combines a detachable box magazine and trigger assembly into a single unit. This unit can be locked into place for those who do not prefer a detachable magazine. Recoil control is superb with a parallel comb stock that offers just the right cast for enjoyable large calibre shooting.

High accuracy precision trigger The trigger mechanism is positively closed by a cam and leverage system rather than a more conventional spring, guaranteeing the trigger will function even when iced or heavily soiled. In addition to the 900g trigger, without creep, the barrel and saddle mount form one accurate unit. Notches are machined into the top of the barrel to ensure a constant point of impact. Optimum barrel bedding The large-scale bedding of the barrel into the solid receiver guarantee consistency when exchanging the barrel. The radial concentric locking system locks directly into the barrel without any rotary motion and offers 14 locking surfaces for 360-degree engagement. The barrel and chamber are perfectly concentric and cold hammer forged for most calibres for precision and durability. Safe and reliable Blaser’s manual cocking system is regarded as the safest in the world. The R8 is cocked the instant before shooting. Should the shot not be taken, simply pressing down on the cocking lever causes it to slide back smoothly into decocked position. With the R8 integrated trigger guard, the cocking lever cannot be set in cocked position by unauthorized users offering protection against misuse. The R8 magazine is only released when both the release buttons are pressed making accidental drop out of the magazine almost impossible. In addition, both release buttons can be locked by a lever inside the magazine. Damage from foreign objects is prevented by the close construction of the R8. Design considerations The overall length of the Blaser R8 is a full 3” shorter than traditional rifles. The shortened length lends unequalled balance and weight distribution to the Blaser R8. The cheek piece features a Bavarian style design that provides amply surface for a proper cheek weld. The ergonomics of the Blaser R8 are immediately apparent and are available for left and right- handed shooters. Ergonomic stock Blaser stocks feature a distinct palm swell and optimal cast to provide an ideal grip that encourages a relaxed shooting position and reduces the risk of flinching. The thumbhole stocks of the R8 Success models offer completely relaxed wrist and arm posture for significantly enhanced shooting accuracy in any firing position.
