Pass the nachosBy Laura J. PelrmanDid not feel this work deserving of battle of the books listing. It's saving grace was that it was mildly, albeit unevenly, humorous. Found the format un- engaging. There were some issues of intolerance by the main character which made him somewhat unsympathetic. My child did not look forward to reading night after night.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good but confusingBy Emilie FordThis was a good book because it tells story of a seventh grader who is in iss in school suspension for nothing. The reason it is confusing is because it keeps switching topics in the middle of a topic. Designed like a case file, chock-full of notes, journal entries, letters, e-mails, illustrations, and more, Free Thaddeus! is an uproarious middle-grade novel that argues why the irreverent Thaddeus should be released from his in-school suspension and explains the unbelievable circumstances that led to his punishment. Soon readers will be chanting, Free Thaddeus! About the AuthorJohn Gosselink is an English teacher who has written a weekly humor column for his local paper for more than a decade. This is his first book. He lives with his wife (a librarian) and their three kids outside Austin, Texas.
