An Amazing Upcoming AuthorBy Cindy L. FranklinStunning. Lilliana has done some interesting things with this book. I like her treatment of the table of contents (TOC). I have never seen an author arrange a TOC in such a way before and it is so relevant to the story that it is brilliant. I also appreciate the way she uses the children from the next generation to tell very specific parts of this story. Speaking of story, someday I would enjoy learning how Lilliana decided to write this book, the process she went through to decide

  2. how and when to write this book, and how she self-published her book at such a young age. Maybe that story will be part of volume 2? Kudos Lilliana, you have done amazing work here. This story is an important one about gay culture and is becoming more relevant by the day. Young people who are struggling with these issues and feel alone will be positively affected by this story. It is helpful that it is not perfect, and therefore, more applicable to real life. Thanks for having the guts to share this story and the determination to see it through to publication. Keep writing!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Well Written and Decent Story LineBy SarahFor Lilliana's first book, this is a well written. She did everything on her own from the editing, to the publishing so it's understandable that there are a few issues. I can't wait to see what she does for book 2. In a homophobic city, several young gay teens struggle. Between attempting to come out, dealing with dance, and their senior year, Sadie and Gavin try to make their way in the world. While spending time with students from the local college the two work on coming out, recovering from anorexia, self-harm, and the loss of one of their best friends. While the two are prepared to fight for equal rights for everyone, did they time it right? About the AuthorLilliana Mahon was born in Grand Junction, Colorado in late May of 1998. She started writing when she was in the eighth grade and finished her first novel in her sophomore year of high school. She is a strong LGBTQ activist and supporter of equal rights for everyone. Lilliana was often bullied in elementary and middle schools because of changing between schools nearly every year. When Lilliana started high school, she joined her schools marching band, color guard, drama department, and their Gay Straight Alliance.
