  2. Two Tiers of Entry Foundation Higher A* - B grade G - C grade Numbers instead of grades! Numbers instead of grades! Grade 1 to Grade 5 Grade 5 to Grade 9 Grade 5 = A very high grade C / Low B Grade 5 = A very high grade C/ Low B Grade 9 is above the old A* grade! students aiming for an old grade B may be better on foundation. No controlled assessment – 3 exams at the end of year 11

  3. GCSE Maths has new content! Many of the old grade B higher GCSE topics are now part of foundation GCSE and will be Grade 5. For example: Standard form 4.3 x 102 Trigonometry SOH CAH TOA Factorising quadratics! x2- 5x + 6 = (x-2)(x-3) Sector area and arc length + more….

  4. Buy a Revision guide aimed at the new spec. Old GCSE Revision guides will have some new topics missing

  5. The Course Structure Year 10 Weekly Homework Fortnightly target setting and reflection formal assessments at the end of each half term (Set changes may happen here) Final Year 10 mock exam in June/July – FULL GCSE 3x1.5 hour papers. (Year 11 setting is based on this!)

  6. Monday 3pm – 4pm Man18 - general help higher Monday 3pm – 4pm Man18 - general help foundation Monday 3pm – 4pm Man17 - Grade 9 Club (invite only) Any other time – come to the maths workroom ask for help Homework help / revision club
