English IV Agenda 12/5 • Go to English IV “Download Files” tab. • Click on the “Othello Words” Handout link and look at the list of words that are used to either describe Othello or that resonate around him throughout the play. • Choose at least 10, look them up in on dictionary.comand decide if they have negative or positive connotations. • Search out any drawings or paintings of Othello to see how the character has been portrayed in art. This can also be done by using Google Images, Lycos, or AltaVista and typing in “Othello art" or “Othello painting”. • How have these images made you think or rethink your original ideas about character, Othello? • Do the images reinforce the representation of Othello in Act I, Scene I? Why/how or why not?
