Psalm 90:12-17. 12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. 13 Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion on Your servants. 14 Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days!

  1. Psalm 90:12-17 12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. 13 Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion on Your servants. 14 Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days! 15 Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil. 16 Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your glory to their children. 17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.

  2. Your days are numbered… A shadow… Job 8:9—For we were born yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days on earth are a shadow. Psalm 102:11—My days arelike a shadowthat lengthens, And I wither away like grass.

  3. Swifter than a runner… Job 9:25—“Now my days are swifter than a runner; They flee away, they see no good. Your days are numbered…

  4. Your days are numbered… Job 14:1-2—1“Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble. 2 He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue. Ps. 102:11—My days are like a shadow that lengthens,And I wither away like grass. Grass withers and flowers fade… Is. 40:6—The voice said, “Cry out!” And hesaid, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness islike the flower of the field.

Your days are numbered… A vapor… Psalm 39: 4-6—4 “Lord, make me to know my end,And what is the measure of my days,That I may know how frail I am. 5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths,And my age is as nothing before You;Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah6 Surely every man walks about like a shadow;Surely they busy themselves in vain;He heaps up riches,And does not know who will gather them. James 4:14—14 whereas you do not know what will happentomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vaporthat appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

  6. This appointment is for sure… Hebrews 9:27And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

  7. Your days are numbered… How are you spending your days? How are you walking your days? Imitating? Ephesians 5:1-21 In the dark? In the light? Your own way? In wisdom? Foolishly?

  8. Living for the moment… • Selfish… • Instant gratification… • Lack of faith… • Shortsighted… • Lacking steadfastness… • Not finishing… NOW

  9. Living for ETERNITY… • Humbly…James 4:10 • Patiently…Romans 15:4 • Faithfully…Romans 5:1-3 • Eternal Sight…Hebrew 12:2 • Steadfast…Psalm 112:7 • Finishing the race…II Tim. 4:7

Psalm 23 1 The Lordis my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul;He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;You anoint my head with oil;My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwellin the house of the Lord Forever.

This appointment is for sure… Hebrews 9:27And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. —II Peter 1:10-11
