Parts of the teeth include; Enamel - the hardest white outer part of the tooth. Enamel is mostly made of calcium phosphate, a rock-hard mineral. Pulp - the softer, living inner structure of teeth, blood vessels and nerves run through the pulp of the teeth. Dentin - layer underlying the enamel. It is a hard tissue that contains microscopic tubes. When the enamel is

Cementum - layer of connective tissue that binds the roots of the teeth firmly to the gums and jawbone. Periodontal ligament - Tissue that helps hold the teeth tightly against the jaw. A normal adult mouth has 32 teeth, which (except for wisdom teeth) have erupted by about age 13. Why Dental Implant is Important Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth. With the advancement in science and technology, today the dentists have achieved the milestones for creating the happiness among the all age group. This magnificent journey began about 3000 years ago, when a cooper stud was nailed into an Egyptian’s mouth. This was documented by Dr and Mrs. Popenoe after their excavations in 1931 in Honduras. Then in 1940 Dahl proposed the intramucosal implants or the button implants, then in 1941 subperiosteal implants were suggested. There was a period of lull in the implant activity all over world till 1952 when Branemark demonstrated that under controlled conditions titanium could be structurally integrated into the living bone with a high degree of predictability of success. The first screw shaped implant was placed in a patient in 1965. Figure 2Tooth fillings Jumeirah 1
