  2. Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated holds the mineral title to 38,000 square kilometers of land in Nunavut. Any persons seeking exploration and mining rights must negotiate and execute an Inuit Owned Lands mineral exploration agreement (MEA). As a private mineral owner, NTI retains complete discretion as to whether we enter into a MEA . NTI will prepare an MOU and MEA and forward it to the other party to be signed. Before any commercial production can start, a mineral production lease has to be signed NTI also participates in the environmental review process in cooperation with KitIA..

  3. Newmonts Hope Bay Project is both on Surface IOL and Subsurface IOL. NTI collects the royalty.
