  2. The Beginning • It took place in Illinois, on January, 23, 1779 • American led by George Rogers Clark • British led by Colonel Henry Hamilton

  3. What the Point of the Battle was • Vincennes was a point protecting a major water route from British Canada to the Mississippi river

  4. WOW Facts • Kaskia and Vincennes had a lot of British power • On February 23,1779 Clark captured a British prisoner who gave the Americans tons of information • George Rogers Clark asked Colonel Hamilton to surrender and he did • Colonel Hamilton had a nickname which was “hair buyer”

  6. The Ending of the War • Gorge Rogers Clark asked Colonel Hamilton to surrender • Hamilton finally decided to surrender • The war ended February 23, 1779 • The American leader- George Rogers Clark- surprised the British and won the battle
