His venture started at the height of World War II when he began to process palm candy after observing the market demand and the quality of products available.   3. Tal Mishri There are many natural sweeteners available apart from sugar, and tal mishri is one of them. It is made from the sap of the Palmyra palm. It is also free from flavourings and chemicals. The sap is collected from the flower head of the palm tree. It is a thick stem on which the flower grows. The collected sap is heated to evaporate the water and create a thick syrup. This syrup is then poured into trays to cool down.
