  1. Start with a definition: what is euthanasia? The question is about the law: so state - what is the law? what does it permit/ forbid ? Euthanasia Exam Practice • Disagree...(why are you not advocating change?) • The law as it stands is good. Otherwise (argue against E.) • Distrust doctors • Vulnerable people could be killed by will of relatives & doctors: who keeps up the standards for protecting life? • People could be pressured into it, or change their minds after it’s too late • Hospices can alleviate pain and make life comfortable: no need for E • Sanctity of life (religious believers) • Agree.. (what change are you advocating?) • For Active E./ assisted suicide , so that is the “change” in the law that you must argue for. • mental/ psychological suffering • a human right to have control over when you die. • Switching off life support legal anyway “The Law on Euthanasia should be changed”.
