Five ways to be empathetic • Watch other people’s body language and listen to what they say • Remember times when you felt the same way or thought similar things • Imagine how they might feel and how you might feel too • Ask what that person is feeling • Show that you care through your own words and actions Empathy means to (psychologically) identify with the feelings, thoughts and attitudes of others.

  4. Telling Tales Come up with a story about a child that is being ‘bullied’ and doesn’t tell anyone about it. • Who are they? Develop your character. • What is happening to them? • When and where is it happening? • Why are they the victim of bullying? Why won’t they tell anyone? • How are they feeling because of this?

  5. Role on the wall External challenges and pressures. Things things that are happening around them and to them Internal challenge. What they are thinking and how they are feeling inside

  6. Make a noise! How should you deal with… • Face-to-face bullying? • Cyber/online bullying? • Bullying because someone is different (race, faith, disability, impairment, looks etc)? • In-school bullying ? • Bullying that takes place outside of school?

  7. Stepping Stones What small actions could we take to make our school a happy and safe place for everyone?
