Finds an innovative solution • GHD • This is when a business solves a problem by thinking of a new way to do things. • People who buy and use hair straighteners wanted a product that worked easily and quickly but did not damage their hair. • GHD designed straighteners that had different sized plates to suit different hair. They had ceramic plates to protect damaging the hair and heat up hotter than some others to make it quick to use.
Meeting customer needs • ASDA • This is finding out what customers want and trying to do that but also to their benefit. • Customers of Asda want value for money. • Asda have done this by constantly monitoring what other supermarkets charge for products and trying to ensure they are competitive or better on some. They have a “Roll Back” promotion where prices of some products are cheaper than they used to be.
