  4. Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23

  5. “Bring him to Me” Mark 9:19

  6. And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father. Luke 9:42

  7. “He gave him back to his father” Luke 9:42

  8. …“Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief… Matthew 17:19-20

  9. Jesus links the need for prayer with the problem of unbelief. Only Mark mentions this part of the story. It is significant to us to remember that believing God and prayer are linked. Mark 9:29
