Title Six of the Student Body StatutesOrganizations and Extra Curricular Activities • Purpose of Title Six • Organizations listed in Title Six are unique in nature and do not fit into any other title in the Student Body Statutes. • The creators of a Title Six organization have the freedom to define the leadership roles of their organization. The specifications of the organization - including leadership roles, purpose, operations and oversight - are outlined in the bill that creates the group. • The Senior Class Council • The Senior Class Council shall work to foster unity among the Senor Class of Florida State University. The day to day responsibilities include planning and implementing events and activities that directly involve the Senior Class. • There is a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Senior Class Council that are elected in the Spring semester of their Junior year. • The President and Vice President of the S.C.C. serve as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Golden Tribe Lecture Series. The Treasurer and Secretary are board members.

Title Six of the Student Body StatutesOrganizations and Extra Curricular Activities • Panama City Student Government Council • The PCC-SGC serves as a body that implements the laws set forth in the FSU-SGA Statutes as well specific policies effecting the Panama City Campus. PCC-SGC is not subject to the A&S fees guidelines that effect the FSU-SGA. • The PCC-SGC is made up of one President and ten representatives that serve as a forum for decisions on matters of broad concern to the students of the Panama City Campus. • The PCC-SGC is entitled to pass four types of legislation: That which changes chapter 603 of the Statutes or the Student Body Constitution, legislation concerning PCC matters only, legislation that changes the by-laws of PCC-SGC, and resolutions that deal with PCC and FSU relations. • The PCC-SGC has the power to create a budget made up of the PCC portion of A&S Fees. • A copy of all PCC-SGC bills, resolutions and minutes are shared with the FSU-SGA and vice versa. • All students registered at the Panama City Campus are eligible to vote in both the PCC-SGC elections and FSU-SGA elections. Regular FSU students may not vote for the PCC-SGC. • The PCC-SGC has its own separate Finance Code which is similar in content and structure to the Finance Code featured in Title 800 of the Student Body Statutes.

Title Six of the Student Body StatutesOrganizations and Extra Curricular Activities • The Oglesby Union Board • The Union Board is made up of 12 elected and 5 appointed officials who determine policies, program services, activities, amenities and facilities to be offered by the Oglesby Union Board and throughout the Oglesby Union Complex. • A Union Board Selection Commission shall hold an initial screening process where it forwards a number of candidates to the Elections Office. From there, Students have the option to vote for up to 12 of the candidates on the ballot. Elections take place in the Spring. • The Union Board participates in the budget process in relation to Union Departments, and after A&S Distribution, they authorize Student Activity Center budgets and spending. • The Union Board allocates space in the Oglesby Union Complex to organizations. • Campus Recreation Board • The Campus Recreation Board provides students and staff with activities and programs associated with the Leach Center and other campus recreation centers. • The board is made up of 8 elected and 4 appointed officials. Elections take place in the Fall. • The Recreation Board is primarily responsible for the establishing and developing of rules and policies which will ensure the operation and maintenance of the Campus Recreation facilities and programs in a coordinated, efficient, and effective manner.

Title Six of the Student Body StatutesOrganizations and Extra Curricular Activities • Congress of Graduate Students • The purpose of COGS is to provide graduate and professional students at FSU an opportunity to participate in the decision-making process, to consider, make recommendations and act upon aspects of graduate/professional student life at FSU, and to serve as the principal forum for decisions on matters of broad concern to the graduate/professional students at FSU. • COGS can submit legislation to the Senate through the Senate President or Judiciary Committee when the legislation deals with chapter 607 of the statutes, or a resolution concerning university wide matters. • COGS constructs its own budget which is composed of 30% of the A&S Fees collected from Graduate Students. • The Speaker of COGS is the highest ranking member of COGS. The body is dictated by the COGS Code, which is similar to the Senates Rules of Procedure. • The Senate Pro Tempore is the official COGS liaison of SGA. The Pro Tempore shares all bills, resolutions and minutes of meetings as well as any information regarding issues facing graduate students with the COGS Information Officer • Golden Tribe Lecture Series • The Golden Tribe Lecture Series is an initiative that works to provide the student body with a series of speakers and lecturers. It is run by a board of students which is chaired by the Senior Class President and Vice President.

Title Six of the Student Body StatutesOrganizations and Extra Curricular Activities • Homecoming Executive Council • The purpose of the Homecoming Executive Council is to unite the Florida State University’s administration, faculty, alumni and students in an inclusive celebration of the University’s past accomplishments, present projects and future initiatives. • The members of the Executive Council shall be in charge of all administrative projects regarding Homecoming including the budget, rules and regulations, and events/spirit activities. • Homecoming Planning Commission • The Homecoming Planning Commission has the authority to assess the effectiveness of past Homecoming activities, sub-allocate funds given to the Homecoming Executive Council by the Senate, and authorize/approve the Homecoming schedule. • PowWow Planning Committee • This committee organizes and promotes the annual Florida State University Pep Rally known as PowWow. • Student Performing Arts Council • This council shall work to unite the student performing arts groups on campus and to educate the student body on various aspects of the performing arts including student accomplishments. • The Office of Legislative Affairs • The purpose of OLA is to ensure the fair and appropriate representation of the student body in local, state and federal government. OLA offers an opportunity for interested students to participate in the legislative process. Furthermore, the OLA promotes civic engagement through mediums such as voter participation, testimony before governmental entities, communication with policy makers, and other forms of governmental relations.
