  3. Work Overview • Boeing Integrated Site Support 721S–S284A • OSB 2202 ; Bldg 100 Boeing 2100 ; SSPF 2223 • Mentor: Mrs. Vicki Mazurek

  4. Project Description • Increase of computers without users • Change in budget proposals • Planned reductions in force • Windows 7 migration • Objective: Reduce the computer to head count ratio from 1.4 to 1.19 for Boeing at the Kennedy Space Center. • Organize and recover these computers to be issued to another user or transferred to non-profit organizations.

  5. Types of Excess • Untagged Excess Notify property management office and custodians. • Government machines • Corporate Machines

  6. Corporate Asset Management System • Method for keeping track of assets, managing transfers and excessing corporate machines. • Asset database of tag numbers, model numbers, ADPe codes, buildings, rooms, accounts, custodians, username, CPU speeds, BSCO units, and acquired dates.

  7. Automated Data Processing Equipment • Monthly Excel reports • Use pivot tables and filters to generate sub-reports to keep track of assets from different perspectives. • Desktop Instruction

  8. Property Custodians • Manages machines in a certain building • Property Reviews of the Orbiter and Logistics Assets • Real time updates to the ADPe reports

  9. Analysis • Employees with more than one computer • Employees out on an IWA or DTA. • Computers used in the Constellation Program • Computers that does not follow the Energy Star standard

  10. Transportation • Fill in a Corporate Property Transaction Document • Data is erased at the Apollo warehouse.

  11. Partners in Education (PIE) • Filled a truck full of hardware from the KSC warehouses • Distributed at building 100 to • Brevard Schools Foundation • Computers for Kids • Computers for Education. • Every PIE event donates over 160 computers.

  12. Setting up new computers • Install Fast Image • LANs at bldg 100 • South Eastern Boeing Network (SE) • NASA Network (NTBSCO) • Install Excursion program

  15. Gold Cards • Used by non-Boeing employees such as United Space Alliance (USA) to gain access through “virtual tunnels” to the Boeing network. • Change VS Client to Nortel IPSec. • Z Token Retirement

  16. Results • CAPPS computer to head count ratio has been reduced from 1.34 to 1.33. • The overall site ratio reduced from 1.4 to 1.38. • During the month of June and July, a total of 34 CPUs, laptops and tablets were excessed.
