  3. Purpose The purpose of the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program is to provide need-based grant assistance to eligible Oklahoma resident students and to serve the state’s most needy students in a fair and equitable fashion using funds made available pursuant to the Oklahoma Higher Education Tuition Aid Act…

  4. Questions What are your program lengths (900 clock hours/26 weeks, more, less etc.) What is your academic year definition? Is it the same for all programs? What is your shortest program? Are the tuition and fees the same for all programs of the same length? Are students charged for the program at the beginning of the program or by payment period? Do you disburse OTAG by payment period? Do your students have regular classroom hours for defined weeks with a common start and end date? If not, is there a time limit to complete a program? How do you determine full-time/part-time for OTAG purposes? What are you using when asked for cost data? Do students have payment periods for which they are not eligible for Pell due to the scheduled award being “used up”? Do you deal with over-award often? How can we make OTAG fair, simple and consistent?

  5. Challenges How do we disburse OTAG in a way that complies with the statutory intent to assist students with up to 75% of the cost of tuition and fees when higher education does not fit the standard fall/spring semester credit hour model? How do we do this simply and consistently?
