  1. GCF and LCM Molly Jasmine Felicia Addie

Starting out with GCF • You have two whole numbers • Next you find two or more factors for each of them with a factor tree until there are only prime numbers • Then circle the prime numbers • Now make a Venn diagram • Put the original numbers that are on the top of the factor trees on the two end sides of the Venn diagram • Put the common factors (the prime numbers that are the same in both factor trees) in the middle of the Venn diagram • Then put the remaining prime numbers in the other two parts of the Venn diagram • Multiply all the common factors together to get the GCF, if there are no common factors then the GCF= 1

  3. Now to LCM • Take all the numbers in the Venn diagram and multiply them together • The number that you get is the LCM
