  1. OPS - Energy Harvesting • Name: Alex Phipps 12/6/2005 • Goals: • Find source for more solar cells • Order parts and create PCBs for the new solar node boards. • Key accomplishments. • Power processor and solar cell array boards milled. • Digikey order placed. • Key issues • Shengwen is leaving, and there is still a lot of information to cover. • Pin-out of the new solar cell is slightly different from the first version. • Next steps • Populate both boards. • Create test plan for new solar ICs. • New design has test pins for charge pump.

  2. Action Items • IXYS: look to buy solar cells. • Look for other sources of 2 cells in series or one cell. • Talk to Dr. Li’s student about “decoupling cells” • Two diodes ordered from digikey. • Familiarize myself with new solar chip. • Order parts for new board. • Mill and populate board of new solar chip.

  3. Action Item Progress • IXYS: look to buy solar cells. • Spoke with Connie goes – she has to find out about availability from Gemany. • No response as of yet • Look for other sources of 2 cells in series or one cell. • No luck finding any sources so far. • Talk to Dr. Li’s student about “decoupling cells” • Office hours Weds. • Two diodes ordered from digikey. • They are scheduled to be arrive 12/6/2005 via UPS. • Familiarize myself with new solar chip. • I have updated pin-outs and layout information.

  4. Action Item Progress • Order parts for new board. • Scheduled for delivery 12/6/2005 via UPS. • Mill and populate board of new solar chip. • Two separate boards milled. • Board for solar cell array. • Board for solar power processor. • Population of processor board will begin when Digi-key order arrives. • Population of solar cell board will require aid from Al?
