  2. Introduction Physical activity (Winsley and Armstrong, 2005) = Complex Variable Consists of unavoidability and variable activity! Accurate assessment very difficult! Any bodily movement resulting in energy expenditure

  3. Recommended physical activity levels • 60 mins moderate to vigorous (DH, 2005, DH, 2011, WHO, 2010) • NHS (2011) at least an hour plus 3 days muscle and bone strengthening activities • Possible in playtime, travelling to school and Physical Education lessons.

  4. Yes, but…. No curriculum guidance on what sustained activity is…. So how do we record physical activity? What does moderate to vigorous look like? Can physical activity be more than just movement at a moderate to vigorous level?
