Proposal • Similar Ideas – Film Noir / Graphic Novel • Decided to work together and collaborate. • Didn’t rule of possibility of short film as we wanted to work with photography • Looked at approaches to existing bodies of work to get a better idea of how to proceed with our idea. • Characters, Plot devices, setting, stylistic approach, tone, design and music • “Noir deals with criminal activity, from a variety of perspectives, in a general mood or dislocation and bleakness which earns the styles its name. Unified by dominant tone and sensibilty, the noir canon a distinct style of film making...it operates within a set of narrative a visual conventions.” Foster Hirsch, The Dark Side of The Screen, 1981

Feasabilty • Finance • Costumes • Charity Shops • Primark • Props • Mis-en-scene – Adding to our own movie-universe • Cigarette packs – design our own brand • Toy guns (Pound Shop) – Modified to look realistic • Photograph – Taken by our ourselves, printed at Boots or at home • Photography Prints – £2 per Photo (dependant on size) at Print Bureau • Graphic Novel £10.95 from Blurb

  9. Finance • Cheapest Rough Estimate • Cameras – N/A • Travel – Car : £40 • Actors – Free • Costumes - £10 per main character = £40 • Props - £40-60 • (incl Toy Gun, Cigarettes, Watch, Alcohol, Lighter etc) • Prints= 8 at £2 each: £16 • Graphic Novel: £10.95 • Overall Estimate : £166.95
