  3. Exit Slip Review What are the names of the four macromolecules? A: protein, carbohydrate, lipid, nucleic acid What is the difference between a monomer and a polymer? A: A polymer is made of monomers. Monomers are small similar molecules that are linked together to form polymers. Polymers are long chains of monomers.

Spider fibroin protein contains larger percentages of glycine and alanine amino acids. 46. The mole percentage of alanine in a-keratin is 5% and in fibroin is 30 % • The other amino acids must likely did not show large differences between the proteins • The strongest fiber would contain glycine and alanine because this is what the spider fibroin has the most of.
