  2. Pugnacious • Adjective Belligerent; combative; obnoxious The child was pugnacious in the grocery store because her mother wouldn’t buy her a chocolate bar.

  3. Grandiose • Adjective Impressive; magnificent The parade wasn’t complete until the grandiose floats were judged on their appearance.

  4. Improvident • Adjective Wasteful; careless The improvident teenager bought all types of “toys” instead of saving for his college tuition.

  5. Implore • Verb To beg earnestly for; to pray for Even though every student and teacher implored for a huge snowstorm, the weatherman’s forecast still predicted only a dusting.
