  1. Just What Does Your Annual Travel Insurance Cover?

  2. If you are a busy business traveller who takes more than two or three trips per year, you should definitely consider taking out annual travel insurance. This type of cover works out to be much more cost effective over several trips, and one of the main benefits of getting annual travel insurance is the fact you don't have to worry about taking out a new policy every time you need to travel. Depending on the provider you use, yearly insurance plans can cover up to 91 days of business related travel and will keep you covered both at home and on international business trips - and even on those trips that mix business with a bit of holiday fun on the side. Some of the benefits you can get from being covered annually are the cost effectiveness of coverage, while also taking care of car insurance, personal liability and injury or illness cover.

  3. Cost effective coverage Each time you book a business trip you need to be covered for any loss in case something should happen to postpone any part of, or cancel, your trip; this is not just for your own sake, but for the sake of the company you work for. If you only go on one business trip per year, single trip insurance is good enough, but if you are a frequent traveller, the upfront cost of annual travel insurance works out to be much less over the course of the year than buying insurance for individual journeys. Depending on which insurer you use, the annual costs can be as low as £38.00; with that you get a lot of coverage for your money.

  4. Car insurance and personal liability If you're going on a business trip and plan to rent a car to do so, your excess can be covered under your annual travel insurance packages, depending on the sort of coverage you purchase. This means that should you have an accident or break down, you will be covered for any excess fees that may be incurred. This may also cover the damage done to any other vehicles and/or the fees for doctors or accident and emergency consultations as well. Although we don't like to think about things like personal liability or cover for things that may go wrong, this is truly one occasion when we should all say: "better to be safe than sorry."

  5. Injury and illness coverage Getting ill on a business trip is not fun. It's even worse if you are not properly covered and have to pay out of your own pocket for medical care while away from home. One way to circumvent this is to get appropriate annual travel insurance; it will cover this eventuality and keep you safe should you fall ill or have an accident while away from home.
