  1. Alderwood Sports 2nd Quarter Sports – Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball

  2. Eligibility • All paperwork is available online on the Alderwood website or in the AMS office • Get a physical-Physicals are good for 2 years • All AMS fines paid • Proof of insurance listed on paperwork • Pay to Play - ($65) per sport & ASB Card ($8) • Practice is five days a week from 2:35 to 4:00 or4:00 to 5:30 (Vball and Bball will trade off) • A practice bus can give your child a ride home at 4:15 and 5:30 each day

  3. Academic Eligibility • Only one “F” Grade is allowed but student needs to sign a contract to bring up grade during the season. • If the “F” grades are from previous quarter the player will be on probation the first 3 weeks of the season • Practice is OK, ineligible for games • Periodic grade checks throughout the season

  4. Deadlines • All paperwork must be completed by 3pm on Nov. 1st in order to participate in the first tryout • The physical must be completed before practice starts • Students are still eligible to practice/play if their paperwork is turned in late, but can’t practice until everything is in • Number of practices completed before eligible to play: Volleyball = 10, Basketball = 10

  5. Winter 1 Season (Nov.-Jan.) -Girls Volleyball -Cut Sport -7th and 8th Grade Teams -Boys Basketball -Cut Sport -7th and 8th Grade Teams

  6. Winter 2 Season (Jan. – Mar.) • Girls Basketball • Cut Sport • 7th and 8th Grade Teams • Wrestling • Non-cut sport • 7th and 8th Grade • Girls and Boys

  7. Spring Season (April – May) • Track and Field • Large Team! • Non-cut sport • Open to all grade levels

  8. Other Important Information Health Needs • Make sure medicine is turned into the office before the season starts Now accepting payment for sports fees in the office: • ASB card - $8 • $65 sports fee (separate check) -Call Assistant Principal Brian Stewart at 425-431-7581 if you have questions

  9. Forms to Fill Out • ..\Forms\Sport Forms\AD1-MS sports eligibilty paperwork October 2012.pdf (Green Form, one per sport) • ..\Forms\Sport Forms\AD - 3 MS October 2012.pdf (Cream Form, once a year) • Forms are available in the main office and can be turned into the main office now
