  1. Aspire to Be Well for Undergraduate Students Sexual Violence Prevention

  2. Sexual Violence Prevention • You’re at a party at an apartment and you see Ashley, who you have met a few times on campus. You notice over the course of the night that some guy keeps refilling her cup. Ashley seems to be stumbling around and slurring her words, and he can’t keep his hands off of her. The next thing you know, you hear him convincing her to go home with him and see him taking her by the arm out the door.

  3. Sexual Violence Prevention •  What did your group talk about regarding your perspective? • Do you think having sex with someone who is too intoxicated to know what they are doing is rape? • Do you think that rapists are more likely to target a stranger that someone they know? • Do you think that when a person allows touching to get to a certain point, he/she is implicitly agreeing to have sex? • Let’s talk about how it might/would be different if you know Ashley very well and if you don’t know her at all. • What if the scenario was changed, and instead of Ashley being a female, it was a guy. How would you respond? • In this scenario, you’re looking out for a female by asking her to take a picture with you, however, would you be just as willing to stop a guy from taking a really drunk girl home?

  4. Stalking • Your roommate tells you that he thinks he’s being stalked. There’s a girl in his class that has added him on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. She shows up at his dorm room to “hang out” and waits for him outside the gym, class, and dining hall. He does not want to hang out with her and has told her to leave him alone, but she continues to show up unexpectedly. He has come to you for advice on how to handle this situation. How would you help him? What resources would you tell him about?

  5. Stalking • What are the problem behaviors in this scenario? • Is this considered stalking? Why or why not? • What actions do you take?
