  1. Advanced Digital Media Research Project Presentation by Franklin Anosike Instructor: Dr. James Rowan Georgia Gwinnett College – Lawrenceville.

  2. My Research Interest: Modeling a 3D Object using Blender: Queen mother Idia Ivory Pendant. A B

  3. Conclusive course outcome Goals In this presentation, I will show my research project expectations and what my achievements are. To indicate challenges that I faced and how I worked hard to achieve the desired goals. I will illustrate that I gained knowledge of digital media software tools and their applications. I will illustrate that I also learnt current tools, processes, and show competence in technical information processing using various digital formats. Franklin Anosike

  4. Conclusive course outcome Goals continued. Each student conducted a research on any choice of digital media activity that meets personal interest. I worked for 12 hours a week and more hours on weekends to achieve the best result for the project. I explored other sources of information to obtain facts that were consistent with my research project view. I completed my service to ITEC 2110 - digital media, on audacity. To simplify procedures to complete audacity project, I presented facts with screen shot for easy tutorial and to encourage community based learning and academic work. Franklin Anosike

  5. Research Project Software Interface.

  6. My Research Interest and History of Queen Ivory Pendant Queen Idia was the mother of the Oba of Benin who ruled from 1504 to 1550 in old Benin Kingdom. She was a celebrated warrior who fought against the British who invaded the kingdom at the time. The Ivory pendant is monumental in her honor, and for her courage to fight against the British. This pendant won the best award in Arts and Culture for Nigeria, and became a symbol of respect and freedom. It was stolen by the British Lords who invaded the old empire and placed in the British museum with a price tag of £5 million pounds today. To be auctioned soon. Franklin Anosike

  7. Wiki web pages creation. Franklin Anosike

  8. Digital media Software Tools Researched on and apparently used for the project. • Blender • GIMP • Audacity • Inkscape • I researched on Blender for modeling and creating 3D animation and used the rest software as aids to complete the research project . Franklin Anosike

  9. My research work and other variable I worked 3 days in a week to achieve my goal. I watched various u-tube websites to learn Blender user interface, modeling and animation. I visited other websites for tutorials on modeling. I practiced digital drawing with different tools and formats. I opened up to weekly in-class discussions with the instructor and answered specific questions on progress and failures. Never a dull moment: I tried something else to remain focused with the project. See next slides Franklin Anosike

  11. Remaining focused at difficult times: Did something else Franklin Anosike

  12. Success and Failure My research project was successful: I was able to create a 3D model of the Queen Ivory pendant and made an animation of it. I set out to research on Blender: I made minimum success; learnt few blender interface keys but could not continue with this software because of manipulation inconsistencies. I used GIMP mostly in various art work but used blender import and export tools when I required extra tools to enhance image colors. Franklin Anosike

  13. My Take away from this course Franklin Anosike Research works; I can now undertake any IT research work with minimum assistance. I have found out that it is important to engage in group discussions during any research project – one can gain some ideas from such discussions. This aspect of IT learning will help me in the future to teach other student who wish to know more about software application. I can also create little fun things. See next slide

  14. Digital Media creates fun things Nice to meet you too !! Media Art by Franklin anosike Please meet this Guy! or make a guess who he is? He creates fun things to make digital media look cool. I agree; I honor him Franklin Anosike
