  2. In the state of Nevada, currently only 10 out of 100 students entering 9th grade receive a bachelor’s degree within 10 years of starting high school. Imagine the impact if we can improve this number

  3. Regardless of the economic plan adopted, Nevada will need a more highly-educated workforce. In 2018, 53% of jobs in Nevada will require some postsecondary training(30% more jobs than what NV had in 2008).

  14. Nevada ESEA Waiver • The state waiver seeks regulatory relief from key provisions of No Child Left Behind; A waiver does not get rid of accountability. • The State of Nevada has submitted its ESEA waiver. It is under review. • Notification could come as early as this week.

Statewide Performance Evaluation System • Teachers and Leaders Council (TLC) • Tasked with examining and developing an effective evaluation system for educators across the state • Working to balance statewide uniformity with district flexibility • Opportunities in September for stakeholders to provide input during one-day summits and webinar training
