  2. What are assistive technologies? Assistive Technology is the use of technology to assist people both in the classroom and in every day life. While all students can benefit from assistive technologies, they are most important to students with disabilities. Assistive devices can help children carry out their daily routines with more independence.

  3. Technologies for: • Physical Disabilities • Vision Impairments • Hearing Impairments • Learning Disabilities • Cognitive Disabilities

  4. Apple has included several features in their computers to make computers accessible to more people. TTS Technology VoiceOver Screen Magnification Closed Captioning Sticky Keys Slow Keys Mac computer features

  7. “Portable devices such as PDA’s, iPods, and iPhones also allow students to use, as needed, video prompts to learn new skills and complete learned skills across novel settings with relative ease.” -Diana Hammond and Abigail Whatley (pg 2) iCommunicate and Going Places are examples of video modeling that can be used in and outside of the classroom.
