History • Bolton castle is located in Yorkshire England • Bolton Castle is a rectangular castle • Bolton Castle has 12 individual lodgings and 8 household suites • Bolton Castle took 20 years to build starting in 1799 • Every door to the entrance had a portcullis • The main entrance was on the East side • Historians have argued over whether Bolton Castle had a moat but most likely not • Bolton Castle was owned by the Le Scrope family • Bolton Castle was made out of stone • Mary Queen of Scotland was imprisoned at Bolton Castle • Bolton Castle also had machicolations also known as murder holes
