  2. IMPORTANCE OF A HEALTHY MEAL Today, many students and children are consuming large amounts of junk and unhealthy food. This is causing several negative implications on their health. A student’s life can be very demanding and for this they need a lot of energy. At home parents take care of the dietary needs of the students but in boarding schools school administration is responsible for this. As a parent, it is crucial that the children develop healthy eating habits. Any health concerns can affect the productivity of the children and hamper their growing process.

They need to include all the crucial components like fruits, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vegetables, vitamins and minerals in their food. A well-balanced diet is nutrient rich and takes care of all the needs of the body.

  4. To perform well in academics and co-curricular activities, students need to consume a proper meal. In the following slides are some tips to develop healthy eating habits in students.

Create a perfect meal by including all the components like fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains, whole-wheat, etc. When students will see numerous options to explore on their platter, they will be develop better eating habits. The cravings for junk food will also reduce. Be experimental and create new ways of serving healthy meals to the students.

  6. DISCOURAGE FREQUENT DISCOURAGE FREQUENT SNACKING SNACKING Snacking is a good option to keep our tummies filled. But large consumption of junk food can result due to such activities. Teach your child to prevent from snacking while watching tv, studying or doing any other activity. Providing a healthy alternatives to junk food can also be great way of promoting healthy habits. It will reduce the student’s affinity towards junk food products and they would prefer fruits, protein bars or other healthy condiments for snacking.

Water cleanses our system and keeps us hydrated at all times. It also keeps our digestive system functional. Doctors recommend consuming at least 8 glasses of water everyday. For students, 6-7 glasses would suffice. Provide a water bottle to every student so that they can easily access water at all times.

  8. EXERCISE EXERCISE Physical activity should be an essential part of every student’s daily routine. It keeps us fit and also helps in maintaining our food intake. Students need to be active so that they don’t stressed out. Burnout has become a problem and in the recent times and we exercise cab help in keeping that at bay.

  9. STAY HAPPY! STAY HAPPY! Happiness is the key to good health! It makes a person feel good and energized. Students should learn the importance of happiness and try to maintain a positive aura around them. Do the activities that freshens their mood and makes them feel instantly better. Teachers and parents should also make sure that the students are happy and not stressed.
