  10. Frequently Asked Questions Q. How long will it take me to get my diploma? • The average length of time is between six months to one year.

  11. FAQ Q. Do I have to be presently employed? • You do not have to be presently employed but, you must have a specialized skill (be a volunteer, entrepreneur, or manage a home).

  12. FAQ Q. Will my employer be told that I am getting a high school diploma? • This is a confidential program. The program is identified as a skills enhancement class in correspondence that might be sent to employers provided that the student approves.

  13. FAQ • Q. What days/nights are assessors available? • Staff is available Monday through Friday based on a mutually agreed upon schedule.

  14. FAQ Q. Will I have to take any tests? • There is an initial appraisal test to determine reading and math skills. Also, the first phase of the program has assessments in reading, math and writing.

  15. FAQ Q. What happens if I don’t meet the testing requirement? • Tutoring is provided to help you improve your skills in order to participate in the program.

How will I demonstrate my skills? • Skills will be demonstrated in practical ways such as: • Identifying and practicing informed research utilizing technology Writing: • Consumer complaint letter • Resume • Employment related email • Interpretation of information on the use of credit and finances
