  1. Bio review Ch 9

  2. Which of the following is an example of an allele • The organisms genotype • XY • G • Gg • ? Don’t know

  3. In a monohybrid cross how many traits are examined? • 1 • 2 • 3 • 4 • ?

  4. In a monohybrid cross how many alleles are examined • 1 • 2 • 3 • 4 • ?

  5. Which of the following is homozygous recessive? • g • GG • gg • gy • ?

  6. If I have a kid and I know the chances of that kid having attached earlobes (a recessive trait) is 25% What is my genotype • DD • Dd • dd • Not enough information to be sure • ?

  7. If my phenotype is detached ear lobe and my kid gets attached ears what is my genotype? • Dd • DD • dd • Not enough information • ?

  8. How many genes are being compared in a dihybrid cross? • 1 • 2 • 3 • 4 • ?

  9. How many alleles? • 1 • 2 • 3 • 4 • ?

  10. In a dihybrid cross when both parents are heterozygous what is the probability that the offspring will exhibit both dominate traits • 9/16 • 8/16 • 3/16 • 16/16 • ?

  11. In the same cross as before what is the probability that the kid will have only one dominate trait shown • 0/16 • 1/16 • 16/16 • 3/16 • ?

  12. My answer look like yours and it is in enough detail to say exactly what you did. My answer lacks detail but it is on the right track, I need to use correct vocab in my answer to strengthen it (near similar length maybe a sentence shorter) Nope, I have a two – ten word answer, it is weak. I got the wrong idea, so I will go back and study. Describe how I can determine the unknown genotype of a trait in an organism • By examining my unknown organism’s trait I could determine if it shows the dominate trait (if it shows recessive trait stop there, it must be homozygous recessive, done) If not… I would use a test cross and cross the organism with a known homozygous recessive organism of that trait. I would repeat my test cross multiple times. If ever I observe a recessive gene in the phenotype, the unknown organism must be heterozygous. If I repeat the test many times and never see the recessive phenotype the unknown must be Homozygous dominant.
