  1. Grommet Directions

  2. Step 1 • Mark the grommet hole 1” from the corner.

  3. Step 2 • Poke a seam ripper through that mark and all layers of the backpack. This will create a spot for the grommet to go into.

  4. Step 3 • Place grommet in the hole. (The smooth side of the grommet should be on the front of the backpack.) • You may need to use the seam ripper to enlarge the hole slightly. • Be careful not to cause a large tear.

  5. Step 4 • The rough edge of the grommet should poke through the backside of the backpack. • Push all threads off the edges of the grommet.

  6. Step 5 Place the small round grommet tool on the wood block.

  7. Step 6 • Line up the rough edges of the grommet with circle of the small tool.

  8. Step 7 • Place the tall grommet tool on the smooth edge of the grommet (lining up the circles).

  9. Step 8 • Hammer about 5 times to bend the grommet prongs around the shirt fabric. • Repeat for the other side.
