Recapitulation. • Rev 12 & 13 foretold setting up of system of false Christianity in Europe in AD 312. • Same system held sway for centuries over thousands of men and women. • Ch .14 wonderful vision of victorious saints preparing to take the Kingdom. • Ch .15 shows how Kingdom to be set up - seven angels pour out seven golden vials full of the wrath of God.

Final Preparation for Kingdom. 1 ¶ “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth...... 17 ¶..... And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.” Rev 16.

  4. The Seven Vials - When? • When in history are the Vials poured out? • Ch. 11 gives clue - takes us up to the French Revolution in 1789. • 11:13 Revolution the ‘great earthquake signifies the end of the second woe Trumpet.

Time Scale Indicators. 13 “And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.” (THE FRENCH REVOLUTION 1789.) 14 ¶ The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. i.e. QUICKLY AFTER THE FRENCH REVOLUTION (Rev 11)

  6. Vials Poured Out 1789 Onwards. • Whilst third Woe Trumpet sounds seven Vials are poured out. • Third Woe Trumpet commences to sound ‘quickly’ after French Revolution in 1789. • Vials poured out during sounding of Third Woe Trumpet - from about 1789 onwards.

  7. Three Great Earthquakes of Revelation. • 6:12 and chap 12 • Pagan Rome becomes Christian. • 11:13 and chap 16 • Overthrow of old order in Catholic Europe. • 16:18 and chaps 18 to 19 • Kingdom of God established. • all hostile nations and false religions overthrown.

Summary of Vials. • First five Vials - judgments on Europe by which Holy Roman Empire brought to end. • Sixth vial diverts attention to Middle East - during which Christ returns. • Seventh vial climaxes in Armageddon - East and West brought together. • Vials demonstrate all history is already under supervision of Christ and the Angels. • Similar features between Vials and Trumpets.

The First Vial - Rev 16:2. • “upon the earth” - Europe • “grievous sore” - revolution • “upon those with the mark of the beast” - Papal dominated people Judgments against Roman Catholic dominance, initiated by French revolution with its cry of “liberty, equality, fraternity”, spread as a malignant ulcer across Europe.

The Second Vial - Rev 16:3. • “upon the sea” – high seas.high seas • “sea became as blood” – fierce naval battles. • “every living soul died in the sea” - navies and trade inactive.navies and trade inactive Naval battles against France and Catholic Europe, with British blockading Europe’s ports and containing naval action.

The Third Vial - Rev 16:4. • “upon the rivers and fountains of waters” – alpine Europe.alpine Europe • “became blood” – fierce land battles.fierce land battles Napoleon’s army invades Italy and central Europe. Verses 5-7 The Vial was appropriate recompense against cruel persecutions which had taken place in the districts in earlier times.
