  1. One-Point PerspectiveUsed when objects are lined up perpendicular to your line of sight.

  2. Vanishing Point Horizon Line The railroad ties lie perpendicular to our line of sight. The rails are parallel to our line of sight. Parallel lines appear to get closer to each other as they approach the vanishing point on the horizon line.

  3. Horizon Line Horizon Line The vanishing point is always on the horizon line.

  4. Horizon Line Vanishing Point All parallel lines converge at the same vanishing point.

  5. Horizon Line All vanishing points go to the focal point of the painting.

  6. VP 3 VP 2 VP 1 There are separate vanishing points since the buildings are NOT parallel to to line of sight.

  7. The horizon line is at the same eye level as the people in the painting.
