Our Starting Point Thepartnership of UNMC and the Nebraska Medical Center will be a world-renowned health sciences center that: • Delivers state-of-the-art health care; • Prepares the best-educated health professionals and scientists; • Ranks among the leading research centers; • Advances our historic commitment to communityhealth; • Embraces the richness of diversity to build unity; • Creates economic growth in Nebraska.

  10. Education • * Expanded use of mobile learning. • * Progressing with Center for Primary • Care Education, Research & Health • Care Design & with curriculum • review for learning communities. • * Created new Office of Education. • * Operating new distance learning delivery modes.

  11. Research • Established UNMC, TNMC & UNMC-P consolidated informatics planning board. • Launched Nebraska Regenerative Medicine Project under founding director. • Accelerated Personalized Medicine development with formation of genomics core laboratory.

  12. Community & Campus Partnerships for Health • Approved strategic plan for global institutional partnerships with strong infrastructure. • Developing a Center • for Health Policy in the • College of Public Health. • Expanded international education, research & service.

  13. Cultural Competence • Added online cultural competency course as mandatory training & working on enhancements. • Will consider diversity award & restructuring of Chancellor’s Diversity Advisory Council at spring retreat. • Developing diversity Weblink on UNMC front page.

  14. Economic Growth • Continuing Discussions with the Army Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) & other Department of Defense contracting parties. • Signed agreement with Quintiles, one of the world’s largest clinical organizations, to make UNMC a prime site for trials.

  15. Employee Loyalty & Wellness • Implemented common UNMC, UNMC-P & TNMC employee discount program. • Provided financial “lunch & learns” (delivered by Metro Credit Union). • Increased employee engagement with the UNMC brand. • Improved participation in University health risk assessment to 42%.

  16. Performance & Quality Indicators We use 12 key indicators & a number of sub-indicators to evaluate & track our performance. (See PIQI, pp. 3&4).
