  4. The lighting of thousands of diyas (small clay pots filled with oil in which a wick is immersed and lit)

  5. The diyas are lit to invite mother lakshmi the goddess of Wealth into the house to bring fortune to the family

  6. Hindus dress in bright-coloured clothes

  7. Females decorate their hands with henna paints or temporary henna tattoos

  8. Hindus greet each other as well as other people by saying ShubhDivali • They appreciate if people also wish them ShubhDivali • ShubhDivali means Happy Divali
